Fairview Hieghts, Indiana to Charleston, West Virginia

The bus was loaded and ready to leave Fairview Heights by 7:45 AM. The back of the bus came up with a chant and the front tried to help. Notice I said "tried" to help.  At 10:00 AM we stopped at a gas station in Indiana to get gas. At 12:30 PM Eastern time we stopped for lunch in Kentucky. Around 4:30 PM we stopped at another truck stop in Kentucky. Around 6:45 PM we arrived in Charleston, West Virginia. That's where we checked into the hotel for the night. During the bus ride we watched Forrest Gump which was the first time for some people. Around 6:45 PM we arrived in Charleston, West Virginia. That's where we checked into the hotel for the night. During the bus ride we watched Forrest Gump which was the first time for some people, and another movie. The back of the bus played a few card games. The front of the bus played a few games and napped. Today was Adam's birthday and his parents sent snacks for everybody. When we got to Charleston, we got to go to the mall for a few hours for dinner and free time. While walking around, Elly found some tame goslings.

Everyone got loaded on the bus in Salina around 8:45 A.M. The bus left from Topeka around 9:00 AM. By the time we arrived in Topeka around noon, more than half of us were asleep. In Topeka, we ate lunch and picked up a few more 4-H’ers. At 2:30 P.M. we were somewhere in Missouri and we stopped at Russell Stovers for a bit! Then we got back on the bus and started driving again. We arrived at the hotel in Fairview Heights, Illinois around 6:00 P.M. Every one ate supper and most everyone headed to the pool. There was a very aggressive and hilarious pool volleyball “game” going on. Supposedly the girls won. It was a long day, but it was better than expected.
